These photos were taken on Thursday, Jan, 8th, at 7:15 in the morning, on my morning walk to work down Pennsylvania Ave.
I guess this sign says it all... don't ask us what we're building! (Note the measurements penciled on the lumber.)
The President will be behind the bullet-proof glass portion to watch the parade. (The White House in in the left side of the photo.)
Even though it's early in the morning ( just after sunrise), there are lots of people already at work.
These are the stands that are opposite the President (for the VIPs, I suppose)--love how the construction workers hung an American flag.
